Support & Help
Please include your device model and Android version, and a short description of what happened, we never need (and can’t see) your financial data.
Getting started
- A Google account is required. FreedomBudget creates your budget as a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive and reads/writes it directly. If you don’t have a Google account, create one at accounts.google.com.
- No bank linking. You enter your income and transactions yourself; the app is not connected to any bank, and your balance reflects your entries.
- Where’s my data? Open Google Drive (or Google Sheets) any time to see the spreadsheet the app created with or without the app installed.
Common questions
My balance doesn’t match my bank
The app’s balance is based on what you’ve entered and marked cleared it isn’t linked to your bank. Use the
Reconcile link under the balance on the Dashboard to compare and find missing or uncleared items.
A new month wasn’t created / I didn’t get a reminder
The next month is prepared automatically around the start of each month, and also whenever you open the app if it’s missing. If a scheduled reminder is late, that’s usually your device’s battery optimization opening the app will create the month within a couple of minutes.
How do I share my budget with a partner?
In Settings → Invite a partner, send an invite link. Your partner installs the same FreedomBudget app and connects with that link there’s no separate app to download. You choose whether they manage the budget equally with you or contribute entries for your review.
How do I turn on the app lock?
Settings → App lock. It uses your device’s fingerprint/face or PIN. We never access your biometric data that’s handled entirely by Android.
