The short version: FreedomTimeCard has no servers or database of its own. Your timecard data — jobs, pay rates, clocked sessions — lives in a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive. We never see it, store it, or have any way to access it. We do collect anonymous crash reports and basic usage counts to fix bugs and understand which features get used, and you can turn that off in Settings; your timecard data is never part of it. We do not show ads, and we do not sell or share your data.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy covers the FreedomTimeCard apps for iOS and Android, published by Freedom Financial App Development, LLC (“Freedom Financial Apps”, “we”, “us”). The same policy covers both platforms; where they genuinely differ, this policy says so. By using the app you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

a) Your Google Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from your Google profile. We use this only to identify you inside the app (for example, showing your name during setup) and to name the spreadsheet we create for you (e.g. “Jane’s 2026 FreedomTimeCard”).

b) Your timecard data

Everything you enter — job names, pay rates, clock-in/clock-out times, notes, tax and charity settings — is written directly to a Google Sheet that FreedomTimeCard creates in your Google Drive, using an access scope (drive.file) that only lets the app see files it created or that you have explicitly opened with it. It cannot browse, read, or list the rest of your Drive.

This data is never sent to, or stored on, any server we operate — because we do not operate one. The Google Sheet is the only place it lives, and it is subject to your own Google Account’s security and sharing settings, not ours.

c) Information stored on your device

A copy of your timecard information is kept on your phone so the app works when you are offline — which for this app is normal, not exceptional. People clock out in parking garages, basements, and warehouses:

  • Encrypted device storage (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences): a reference to which spreadsheet is yours and which year it covers — just enough to find it again without asking Google to search your Drive every time you open the app.
  • Local app storage: the start time of any timer you currently have running, so it keeps counting correctly if the app is closed and reopened; a cached copy of your jobs, logged sessions, and settings, so you can see your data and stop a running timer without a connection; and a queue of any finished session that could not reach your Sheet yet, so your hours are never lost to a failed save. Queued sessions are sent to your Sheet automatically once you are back online.

None of this locally-stored information is transmitted to us. It stays on your device — and, for your timecard data, goes only to your own Google Sheet. All of it is removed if you delete the app.

d) Diagnostics and usage data

FreedomTimeCard uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (both from Google) to report crashes and count basic feature usage. This is on by default and can be switched off at any time in Settings → Privacy.

Your timecard data is never included. We never send hours, pay rates, earnings, job names, notes, your spreadsheet’s contents or identifier, or your email address to these services. In the app’s code this is enforced structurally rather than by policy alone: the list of events that can be reported is a fixed, closed set that cannot carry arbitrary data. What is reported:

  • Crash reports — the technical details of a crash: the stack trace, the app version, your device model and OS version, and a random installation identifier that lets us tell “one device crashed 40 times” apart from “40 devices crashed once.”
  • Usage counts — that a screen was opened (Timers, Dashboard, History, Settings), that a job was added or archived, that a timer was started or stopped, that a session was edited or deleted, that the subscription screen was shown, and that a subscription or free trial was started. Counts and screen names only — never amounts, names, or times.
  • General app information — Firebase also automatically records approximate country, device type, language, and app version.

If you switch this off, collection stops on your device.

e) Subscription information

FreedomTimeCard is a paid subscription. Purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see or receive your payment card, billing address, or Apple/Google account credentials. The app only asks the store whether your subscription is currently active, and stores that answer on your device.

3. Information we do not collect

We do not show advertising, and we use no advertising or cross-app tracking software. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising or profiling. We have no ability to see your timecard data at all — it is in your Drive, not ours. We do not know what you earn, who you work for, or how many hours you have logged.

4. How we use information

Strictly to operate the app on your behalf:

  • To sign you in and keep you signed in.
  • To find or create your FreedomTimeCard spreadsheet in your Google Drive.
  • To read and write your timecard entries, jobs, and settings — only when you take an action that requires it (starting a timer, editing a session, changing a setting, and the like).
  • To show a local reminder notification if a timer has been running longer than the threshold you set, and — on iOS — a Live Activity showing the running job and elapsed time on your Lock Screen.
  • To confirm that your subscription is active.
  • To fix crashes and understand which features are used, unless you have opted out.

We never use your information for advertising, and we never sell it.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your information and do not share it with third parties for advertising. Information is shared only with the services the app depends on:

  • Google Sign-In and the Google Sheets and Google Drive APIs — to access the spreadsheet in your own Drive, as described above.
  • Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (Google) — crash and usage reporting, as described above, switchable off in Settings.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription billing.

Your use of Google’s services is also governed by Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy); Apple’s by Apple’s Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). We integrate no other third-party SDK — no advertising networks, no cross-app trackers, no data brokers.

Notifications (for example the long-running-timer alert) are scheduled entirely on your device. We do not use a push notification service, so no notification content passes through us or any third-party server.

6. Data retention & deletion

Because your data lives in your own Google Sheet, you are always in control of it:

  • To stop sharing diagnostics and usage data, switch it off in Settings → Privacy.
  • To stop FreedomTimeCard from accessing your data, sign out in the app, or revoke its access entirely at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • To delete your timecard data, delete the Google Sheet from your Drive, the same as any other file you own.
  • To remove the data cached on your device, delete the app.
  • To manage or cancel your subscription, use your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.

We retain nothing about your timecard after you do any of the above, because we never held a copy to begin with. Crash and usage reports are retained by Firebase on our behalf under Google’s standard retention periods; they contain no timecard data and are not linked to your name or email address. To request deletion of diagnostic data associated with your device, contact us at the address below.

7. Google API Services — Limited Use

FreedomTimeCard’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data to provide and improve the app’s time- and pay-tracking features, and we do not transfer or sell it.

8. Security

Data in transit between your device and Google is protected by Google’s encrypted connections. Sensitive settings on your device — including your Google account and your spreadsheet’s identifier — are held in your device’s secure storage: Android’s EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android, the iOS Keychain on iPhone and iPad. Access to your spreadsheet is controlled by your Google account. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but our architecture minimizes risk by keeping your data in your own Google account rather than on our servers.

9. Subscriptions & payments

If you subscribe, billing is handled entirely by the app store you downloaded from — Google Play on Android, or the Apple App Store on iOS. We do not collect or store your payment-card details; Google or Apple processes payments under its own terms.

10. Children’s privacy

FreedomTimeCard is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because your timecard data resides in your own Google Drive and on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly — by editing or deleting your spreadsheet and revoking access as described in Section 6. For any questions, contact us below.

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
